The Legislative Committee is comprised of coalition members and works to identify top-priority children's issues.

Legislative Priorities

The Legislative Committee referenced the Beyond ABC: Growing Up in Collin County report (PDF) recommendations and consulted legislators and child advocacy groups across the state to identify their priorities for the 2009 Children First! Legislative Agenda.

Legislative Update

Children First! thanks you for all your efforts during the 81st Texas Legislative Session.  While there were dissapointing losses, we also had many wins.  Check out the Bill Update (PDF) compiled by the Legislative Committee to find out what happened with bills we were following.

While the Texas Legislature will not reconvene until 2011, we will continue to inform you on the most pressing issues concerning children.  Stay tuned!
